They have been talking about peace and using diplomacy to bring “peace” in the Middle East! During the process millions of Palestinians lost their lives, mother, father, sons and daughters, land and livelihood! Yet, the Palestinians are branded as terrorists and real terrorist i.e. Israelis are getting aid and protection as victims!

In Camp David they gave the Palestinians so called 98% of the land. John Howard – The Lying Son of A Bitch provoked Middle East Formula for Peace.

The proposal known as Wye Memorandum, 1998 and the Sharm-Esh-Sheikh proposal was a way forward for peace between Israel and Palestine were more fraudulent than the so called 98% of the land!

Today, they are doing the same. They are talking to maim and murder more Palestinians! They don’t want to give anything to the Palestinians!! It is another cruel joke.

Mahmoud Abbas faced potential political and financial isolation if he did not agree to participate in direct talks [GETTY] The resumption of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) will allow Barack Obama to have his day presiding over the launch of another series of futile negotiations and, in providing an opportunity for Binyamin Netanyahu to assert his unwavering commitment to Israel's colonial policies, will earn the Israeli prime minister further bragging rights. But while the talks may serve immediate American and Israeli interests they will do nothing for the cause of peace. In fact, the mere announcement that talks will resume has emboldened the Israeli prime minister to declare that settlement-building will continue and to demand Palestinian recognition of the Jewish character of the Israeli state as a precondition for any future agreement. So, at the same time that it has pressured the PA into dropping its preconditions for participating, the US has allowed Netanyahu to impose his on the whole process with impunity. The Palestinians have already made clear that they will withdraw from talks should Israel not extend its freeze on settlement construction when it expires on September 26. But regardless of how long they last, the talks will have already started a process that will only perpetuate the Israeli occupation. This is simply the old new story of the 'peace process' - which, since it started in 1993, has consolidated Israeli control over the Palestinians while brutally crushing their resistance. Arab complicity Netanyahu has already asserted preconditions for any possible agreement [GETTY] Responsibility for the decision to participate - despite overwhelming Palestinian opposition - must rest with the PA. But, it is important to recognise the growing American and Arab complicity in pushing the PA to surrender. Arab countries have collectively and individually exerted tremendous political and financial pressure on the PA to enter into direct talks. Qatar, the country that presided over the special Arab League committee that gave the green light for the talks, has played a pivotal role in negotiating their 'terms'. For their part, Jordan and Egypt, driven largely by their own self-interests, have long argued for an immediate resumption of direct talks under the guise that they would give the US an opportunity to support the Palestinian cause. In reality, Arab support for the PA has always been conditional on the Palestinian leadership's willingness to appease the West and the divisions between Fatah and Hamas have made the threat of Arab states withholding political support all the more real for the PA. But, the main pressure has been financial. Arab states have paid only $115mn of the $550mn pledged to PA institutions, leaving it with very real fears of financial collapse. Western donors have also failed to deliver on aid promises, much of which is linked to 'progress' in the 'peace process'. And when Obama sent a letter to the Palestinian leadership last month threatening to withdraw US recognition of the PA, the authority found itself facing the prospect of political and financial isolation - much like that experienced by the late Yasser Arafat when Arab and Western countries left him and the Palestinians at the mercy of an Israeli invasion and siege. No mandate, no surrender Despite this, many within the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and the Fatah movement advised the PA not to succumb to American threats and Mahmoud Abbas would have gained much popular support had he resisted. But the PA leader and some of his aides feared that the international backlash from not participating would cost them and the Palestinians dearly. However, few Palestinians outside the narrow decision-making circle agree with them and the only reason why the decision has not yet been met with an outpouring of anger is because Palestinians are convinced the talks will not result in an offer that could lead to a Palestinian compromise. As one PLO official who asked not to be named told me: "We are not afraid of the outcome of the talks. There is nothing Abu Mazan (Abbas) would or could accept. But going to the talks has undermined our battle to isolate Israel." More than 700 prominent Palestinians in the West Bank, including leaders of all the PLO factions, signed a statement opposing the resumption of talks and called for a protest rally to be held on September 1 - the day negotiations are due to resume in Washington. But a press conference held by opponents of the talks was interrupted by security forces, in a crackdown that has been widely criticised and interpreted as revealing the depth of the divisions generated by the decision to participate. Abbas later expressed his respect for the opposition and ordered an investigation into the incident, but this 'rebellion' by leading Palestinian figures will not go away quietly. The PA leader will be entering negotiations without any organisational or popular backing, let alone a mandate. In fact, the only mandate Abbas will have should Netanyahu try to impose his vision of a fragmented Palestinian state deprived of any real sovereignty over land or resources is to say no. With unconditional US support for Netanyahu's position, Palestinian hopes must lie in the failure of the talks, as 'success' would be equivalent to Palestinian surrender. So while American bullying has succeeded in bringing a weakened Palestinian leadership to the negotiating table, it will not succeed in subduing the Palestinians who have shown in the past that they can lead their leadership into rebellion. Today, the Labor Party powerbrokers changed an elected Prime Minister of Australia due to the big corporation sponsored tabloid media outlets and shock jocks efforts to manufacture consent and opinion! To make the situation complicated the "slash and burn farmers" i.e. miners and other vested interest groups joined in the bandwagon!

John Howard is a very cruel and mean person. He went on to spend around 9billion dollar i.e. 3 million dollar per person directly and indirectly to demonise, de-humanise, torture and terrorise a few thousands unlucky people who had drifted to our shores for genuine political asylum. Howard became the most popular political leader of Australia due to his skillful manipulation of prejudice and bigotry! However, he did not give a rise to pensioners or unemployed. John Howard also initiated the most racist and self centered The Northern Territory Intervention with spectacular failure beside many infamous worker bashing policies!

The incumbent Kevin Rudd is not great but he gave rise to pensioners. He also gave money to almost everyone as stimulus package to keep the economy afloat. Kevin is also trying to fix many mess and cruelty of John Howard!

Yet, the ungrateful pensioners are angry at Kevin Rudd for not spending 3 million per person to demonise, de-humanise,torture and terrorise a few `boat people"! Even other vulnerable groups are cranky at him due to a blatantly one sided cunning and creative campaign by the shock jocks and tabloid media outlets! It is somewhat similar to Colwell, Heffron, Whitlam, … legacy! These people made it easier for the children of farm workers, factory workers, mine workers, …. to go to the universities and enjoy many other opportunities from the society! Yet, the son of a mechanic John Howard was very keen to block the ladder to the poor, unfortunate and vulnerable!!

Right now Australia became the foreign owned and controlled "quarry" of the world. These"slash and burn farmers" are not really adding any value to the society. Brave and nationalistic Kevin Rudd imposed a pragmatic tax on these mobs. Alas! Opportunist and greedy shock jocks and tabloid media outlets are showing their enthusiasm by joining in one sided vendetta against the incumbent government while their anti-Australian facades are becoming evident.

This deliberately one sided vendetta and manipulation of the shock jocks and tabloid media outlets are so strong and obvious. Now, even they are setting the political agenda to make their masters happy rather than reporting them truthfully and accurately.

Even they are encouraging Julia Gillard to challenge Kevin Rudd and many dumb Labor politicians are getting nervous about the whole scenario.

All in all, it is a road map of a robotic society like USA. A society controlled and manipulated by the corporate media rather than public and public good!

Suicide bomb in Pakistan mosque kills 50

A suicide bomber has blown himself up during Friday prayers at a packed Pakistani mosque, leaving more than 50 dead and scores wounded in one of the bloodiest recent attacks in the nation.

Blood-soaked caps, shoes and shirts lie around the flattened mosque, where dazed survivors look on as rescue workers pluck bodies out of the rubble, splashed with pools of blood.

The blast comes just hours before US President Barack Obama is to announce a new offensive against terror havens in Afghanistan and nuclear-armed Pakistan, in the hope of dealing a fatal blow to al-Qaeda more than seven years after the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States.

The bomb on the weekly Muslim day of rest went off in Jamrud, a town in the restive northwest Khyber tribal region that is located on a key road used to ferry supplies to Western troops across the border in Afghanistan.

"More than 50 people were killed and over 100 others were wounded in the attack. Twenty five of the wounded are in a critical condition," Fida Mohammad Bangash, a senior administration official in Khyber, told AFP at the scene.

Only two minarets were left intact at the mosque, which is frequented by tribal police and paramilitary officers fighting against the Taliban and other Islamist militants in Khyber.

"The whole of the mosque collapsed and only two pillars remain. People were crying," said Waheed Khan, a tribal policeman on guard duty across the road.

"I haven't seen such devastation in my life," he told AFP. "At the same time that the imam said 'Alluh Akhbar (God is great)', the suicide bomber exploded. It was a huge explosion. Even the vehicles standing outside the mosque were damaged."

Tariq Hayat, the top official in the semi-autonomous tribal district, had earlier put the death toll at 48 but warned that many others could be trapped under the rubble after the roof of the mosque caved in.

"More than 70 people were wounded. There may be many more dead," he said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani "strongly condemned the suicide attack" and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

It was the deadliest bombing in Pakistan, a frontline state in the US-led war on terrorism, since 60 people died in a suicide truck bomb at the five-star Marriott Hotel in Islamabad last September.

US officials say northwest Pakistan has degenerated into a safe haven for al-Qaeda and Taliban militants who fled Afghanistan after the US-led invasion of late 2001 and have since regrouped to launch attacks on foreign troops in that country.

Pakistani security officials said they suspected the bombing was to avenge operations against Taliban fighters and other Islamist militants to secure NATO supplies into Afghanistan.

The bulk of supplies and equipment required by NATO and US-led forces who are battling a Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan is shipped through Pakistan, and the fabled Khyber pass is the principal land route.

Extremists opposed to the Pakistani government's decision to side with the United States in its war on terrorism have carried out a series of bombings and other attacks that have killed more than 1,600 people in less than two years.

The unrest has fanned international fears about deteriorating stability in the country, where Obama has said extremists - like in Afghanistan - pose a grave threat.

To win a war which aides said was "adrift", Obama plans to dispatch 4,000 extra troops to train the Afghan army, on top of 17,000 deployments already authorised.

Obama also will stump up billions of dollars of extra aid to help Pakistan secure its democracy, senior administration officials have said.

At least 56 killed in attacks on Pakistani mosques

At least 56 people were killed when gunmen wearing suicide vests and carrying grenades attacked two mosques in the Pakistani city of Lahore on Friday, said police and an administration official.

The precise number was difficult to pin down given the sophisticated nature of the attacks on mosques of the minority Ahmadi sect in two separate neighbourhoods of Lahore, where the recovery operation was still under way.

"We have recovered 40 to 50 dead bodies, only from Garhi Shahu," Sajjad Bhutta, the top city administrative official in Lahore, told AFP by telephone from the mosque at Garhi Shahu.

He said 16 people were killed in a second attack on another mosque in the Model Town neighbourhood, giving a minimum overall death toll of 56.

District civil defence official Muzhar Ahmed told AFP by telephone from the scene in Garhi Shahu the death toll was 64.

"We have taken as many as 42 dead bodies from Garhi Shahu so far and more are coming," he said. Another 22 died in Model Town, he said.
